alpine sec 8059 wont let me start the car

1997 Jeep Wrangler 5spd

Was "moving" the brain of the Alpine alarm yesterday without unplugging anything, honestly moved it a few inches and now I've somehow made it mad. The starter kill has enabled, the starter is getting no voltage. I've tried unplugging the battery for 20 mins. Still no start. Unplugged brain for 20 mins, still no start.

Tried the key on, flick and hold toggle, get one blink on LED, no start
Tried the key on, flick and hold toggle, get one blink, repeat to get two blinks, still no start.

Is there a way to get this thing to start?

Is there a wiring method I could use to bypass the starter kill and leave everything else simply wired up? Or should I grab my Jeep manual, print off the wiring diagram for this terrible alarm, and just rip it out and rewire the jeep?

You should be able to easily bypass the starter kill function.  Look under the dash near the steering column, is there a relay under there?  If you find the relay, there should be 2 larger wires that go from the relay and both connect to the same color wire.  If you find the same color wires, simply connect them back together eliminating the relay.

Thanks, I ended up trying that a few hours ago before I took out the entire alarm...needless to say neither got the jeep to start. Turns out it's not alarm related and everything seems to point to a bad ignition switch.

Did you find the starter kill wires?  What color was the wire.  Have you used a volt meter to make sure there is not 12 volts getting to that wire?  You need to verify that there is no voltage on the key side of that wire before you go and buy an ignition switch.  It could be the neutral safety switch.

Pulled the kill wires, spliced the two together making a bridge between the previous yellow starter wire. It has no voltage to it with key out or key in. There is very little voltage registered when I turn the key...less than 1v. The ignition wire is 12v all time. Not sure whats up.

  If you apply 12 volts to the yellow wire while depressing the clutch, does it turn over then?

The car does not try to turn over at all. Tried putting 12v straight to that wire and still no. But I did recheck the voltage. This is the update as I wasnt getting good enough ground with my meter

I'll have to see if it's clicking at all but I replaced it with a brand new one and still got nothing.

-Getting 12v to the yellow starter wire under dash when key is turned to start (wasnt getting contact with my meter before)

-Getting 12v to the starters big cable constantly

-Had autozone check the starter and it fired right up for them

-Brand new starter relay did nothing to help it start

....clueless, and it's beautiful out and I'm just watching it sit there. Any help is greatly appreciated before I push start this and drive it to the mechanic.

The only thing between the key wire and the solenoid is the clutch switch.  Look for the clutch switch, it should be somewhere neat the pivot point of the clutch lever.  There should be 2 wires going to that switch.  If you can unplug the plug from the switch and short the 2 wires together, temporarily and see if it turns over.   It will start in gear while in this condition.  So be very careful when checking this.

Ended up that there was some type of interruption between the starter wire under the dash and the wire to the starter solenoid. I simply jumped into the good wire under the dash and fed it straight to the solenoid.
