Subject: connecting alarm to central locking

Hello everybody,
I have an Autowatch 436 RLI alarm in my 2001 Toyota and have installed a central locking system. I would like to connect this to the alarm so the doors automatically lock/unlock. The CL system has 2 wires for lock/unlock which activate when grounded. How can I connect this to my alarm? Is there a pulsed output from one of the alarm wires?

Help appreciated.

Your alarm should have an unlock and lock pulse wire. Observe the polarity of the type of locking system you have first. Connect them directly to the central locking inputs. They will trigger the built in relays.

Hi reelizmpro,
Thanks for the info. I managed to get a wiring diagram from the alarm manufacturer and all is wired up and working correctly.

Thanks again.

You must remember no-one but me who remembers them when they sold Autowatch here has heard of them outside of South Africa. Good little product though, their dual zone prox was half the size of DEI's and twice as good.

Hi Howie,
You're right. They are very popular over here and I was surprised at how small the alarm box was too.
