2001 bonneville alarm/remote start

I am installing an Excailbur 1510-EDP alarm system with the RS-110 rempte start add on into a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI. I am having trouble locating the starter wire because on the wire diagram I have it says that it is a yellow wire and when i go to test this wire it reads 12v constant in all positions and drops to 0 in crank? Any ideas on what is the correct would help? Also the tach wire and the factory alarm disarm wire. The diagram says that the factory alarm disarm is lt. green (-) and went to test and that wire is (+). If there is anyone that is familiar with this car and the correct wire color it would be appreciated?

Small yellow is the starter.

And how are you trying to test the disarm? Test with the key in the door, NOT the switch. When you turn the

key it should read 0 volts. The tach is on the front of the coil pack (where all of the plug wires come together)

in a long skinny plug. It's white. Get 12V from the battery NOT the ign. harness....

Starter should read 0v in accessory 0v in on position and 12v when cranking.

For tach you could also grab it at an injector, whatever is easier. Remember that it is not the common wire and test it for A/C voltage when running. It should go up with engine RPM.

Factory alarm disarm i usually like to set my black probe on a 12volt constant wire, and test the wire in question on the red probe. Reason is some rest at n/c not 12v. But as mentioned by Kartuneman, you should test it by turning the key in the door and it should show 12v on the meter if you connected it my way. Otherwise a ground.

Ok thanks guys these were the correct wires. I got everything hooked up and started the programming for the alarm ,remote start, and bypass. After programming everything worked on the alarm fine (door locks, triggers, trunk release, etc...) and car started up with key. Tried to remote start and r/s would not work. Found out battery was dead and gave it a jump and let run to charge battery. Still remote start did not work. After this I got car to start with key a few more times. I let car sit and came back to it in less than an hour car would not start with key not even when I tried to jump start. If any know the issue with the car now not being able to start with the key, please let me know.

what bypass are you using and how do you have it wired? try unhooking the bypass and then try to start it with the key.

The bypass that I am using is the IM01 interface for door locks and GM Passkey 3.

Its Omega IM01 forgot to add that.

Unhooked the bypass and also bought a new battery for the car because that one was well over due. Its been in the car since it was made. Still can't get it to start at all with key?

If the vehicle won't start with the key, the best option is to disconnect both battery terminals, leave them unhooked while you remove everything associated with the ignition switch as if you were removing it completely for good. repair everything back to stock, and unplug and remove all other harnesses and fuses. Then reconnect the battery and try to start the vehicle with the key. If it does not start, you have a trip to a mechanic in your future.
