When I autostart the vehicle, then put the key in the ignition and turn to the on position, the starter engages? and when I turn it back off in remote start mode, it engaes as well.

You need to isolate the starter wire with a relay!

I ran the second starter wire through a relay and i disconnected that one and it still did it.... How would I wire the relay??? does it go to the original starter wire???

what type of system are you using? here's a general fix! using a relay wire like this

pin 30- cut true starter wire in half and key side connects here

pin 87a- other side of starter wire

pin 86- ignition

pin 85- ground while running wire (assuming your unit has one),

if you are using a dei module with the xcrs, let me know!

Using t&t's example.... connect the remote start to the wire on 87a (that half of the cut starter wire)
