Hey everyone I'm new and I have been searching which leads me to a bunch of questions.
I have a viper 5900 in a 92 acura legend sedan auto.
Right now it has the dual shock sensor, proximity sensor, automated windows, tilt, and glass break sensor also a battery backup.
I had this installed a year ago by a horrible installer so I plan on fixing all his mistakes (all the wires were just twisted nothing connected.)
So my first question is where is a good place to mount the tilt and glass break sensor? I have the proxy sensor setup in the center console in the car but the sensitivity is WAY to strong.
I have successfully wired the automated windows so that is done.
Is there any tips for setting up the proxy sensor? Should I just turn the knobs off and adjust from there? When I had this installed they said they can't do it without a special machine. My goal is to have the warn feature work just at the windows. Then when it goes off will be a foot inside from the windows.
I could really use some tips on wiring up the sensors to my alarm, because I'm sorting through his wiring mess and trying to figure out whats what. But the sensor wiring is what just confuses me, I have found diodes so I know those were used.

As far as the proximity sensor...How many dials...? You can try another location w/ adjustment of the dials...! If it has 2 dials...One is normally for inside and the second dial is for outside...! And for the shock sensor...Normally zip-tie to a big Harness under the dash works great...The shock sensor should also have a dial to adjust sensitivity...! Whats the model # of proximity and tilt sensor...? What do you mean by"All the wires were just twisted not connected"...?

One assumes twisted together and taped rather than soldered. I'm personally against too many sensors frankly the glass unless turned way too far down to be effective has been known to trigger when the outer zone prox goes off. Tilt sensors to me are always triggering for no apparent reason. I'd stick with only prox. As a serious answer, when I'm installing with one or more sensors, I only connect one at a time and set it up. Then I disconect and go to the next.

I will be attaching the shock sensor to a big harness in the dash :)
Every wire, including IGN wires were just twisted on. Honestly as I removed everything it was sparking etc. I was livid at this point.
Tommy the proxy has 2 dials, I just opened it up and I seen the issue, he had it turned all the way up so I'm sure I can dial it in by guessing now.
The audio sensor is 506T.
Howie thanks for the tip on doing one at a time. I will attempt that. I just need to make sure the wiring is right so I know it won't mess up anymore.
My plan is putting the audio sensor on the rear deck, tilt is underneath the rear seat, shock sensor was screwed into the car, so I'll try it on the harness.
Any tips on where I can put the tilt sensor thats the only one that confuses me.
