Hello folks,
I am presently rewiring an old car that had a Clifford Concept 600 alarm system 'professionaly' fitted (you should have seen it, apparently the firm wasn't in buisnes for very long) and wish to re-instal the alarm system. I have the installation instructions for it but I think that they are the american version as I have a few differences on mine.
The difference that's causing a bit of confusion at the moment is with the thick 12 pin connector.
In britain, to make the alarm system 'Thatcham cat 1' approved (to meet standard insurance requirements in the UK), all the wires to the 12 pin connector are black.
Also, they don't go to a 12 pin connector, they are just left as lengths of wire to be cut to length as required and integrated into the vehicles loom. Obviously they would have been labelled prior to installation but these labels are subsequently removed.
Finaly, there are only 10 of them.
I have identified 9 of the wires but I need confirmation as to the purpose of the final wire. On the car in question it had been wired straight to earth/ground but according to the installation instructions there is no earth from the 12 pin plug.
I have my suspicions as to the wires true purpose but before I follow my assumption I wanted to post up the options on here to see if anyone knows for sure.
The options are:
Pin 1 Headlight Input (+) or (-)
Pin 7 Headlight Output (+) or (-)
Pin 12 Parking Light Output (+) 12V
Thanks for any help.
PM Me , I don't think the UK version had the lighting parts, they were reserved for the Avant Guard lV. It's been about 7 years since I installed one.
