Does anyone know a few brands of remote starters that are RS232 compatible? and can what about D2D? Are they similar? Any info is appreciated.

Thanks

I've never seen a remote start with RS232 capability.  What are you trying to do with it?

I might have my terminology mixed up, but the idatalink bypass modules have a 2-way connector that enables you to connect the bypass directly to the remote starter without having to connect a bunch of outputs to inputs. They call this a RS232 connection in the manual. I believe they also call it a idatalink 2-way connection. I have also heard of a D2D connection and it appears to have a similar function, but maybe from a different company so it may need an adapter cable. Am I way off on this and/or can someone edumacate me on this.

I know Compustar can plug right into idatalink or they can use a blade, and I have heard Crimestopper and Ultrastart can too, but on the Ultrastart I saw, the cable connectors were different and I wasn't about to try to force them together.

Thanks
