I purchased an alarm off Amazon the other day for my sons car, I wanted something cheap to just work when the doors are opened. I bought a Directed Electronics model 20930 . And let me tell you it is absolutely the BEST $19.20 I ever spent. It is a simple 2 wire install (pos and neg) and it senses and current draw, like opening the doors and has an adjustable shock sensor and also 8 different alarm modes. It also has starter kill and light flash if you choose to hook those up.
This thing is really loud ..... it was nice to buy something cheap and get such a great working unit......for a change
If your looking for something simple and inexpensive, then I would really suggest this.

Well i am glad you are satisfied...! Dont know if i ever have seen that unit...But i have had my fair share of cheap/crappy units...Will usually explain to the customer that customer brought in supplies carry NO warranty...The problem w/ that is once you attach your name to anything...The customer brings it back... Wondering why this $19.20 alarm is having so many issues...Like remote programming loss, random triggering of alarm...unit just not responding , siren going off while they are driving...! We use to install the freedom alarm...That is an all-in-1 unit...Brain, shock sensor, and siren...All of which is installed under the hood...(your welcome thief) Geez these things suck...!So i guess my point is ,usually you get what you pay for...And i probably would never recommend that unit...Just wanted to add that...Oh yeah...Have you guys seen the same type of cheap alarm that has two wires...Positive and negative...Each wire has a clamp on it to attach right to the terminals of the battery...Geez...! Nothing against you man...Just dont want to give props to a $19.20 alarm...!

Tell us how wonderful it was if it survives the winter. Current draw/ voltage drop on any modern car with DATA bus systems and sleep circuits? Yeah right.
