Hello all! got a 04 350z MANUAL.

went to my local shop today and got the viper 5901 installed w/ remote start on the manual.

WORKS great! except............................................... lol

there is a STOCK alarm led indecator light. it usually blinks when the alarm was enabled on the stock alamr.

now after installing the viper it works the same. BUT when i remote start the car.. turn the key to the right possition.. and step on the brake pedal.. the stock led indecator light stays SOLID... only on remote start.. after pressin brake pedal.

very annoying at night. whats up? my installer dosnt know why? maybe you guys could chime in and help me out so i could tell him wassup! lol

ALSO.. after stepping on the brakes.. the interior cabin lights turn on for a brief time and then off. any way so they dont turn on at all after stpeeing on the brake pedal?

i think my installer was bad............  i also wanted a feture where my windows could be rolled up. i heard with the viper 5901 i got.. when i lock my car.. the windows would roll up automatically? was kinda looking forward to this feature.

PLEASE HELP!

To get the windows to roll up you have to extend (-) trigger on the acutal lock wire INSIDE the door.  If the installer didn't run a lock wire inside the door then you can not add this feature.

For the security LED, what kind of bypass did he use?

I have some weird issues with my wifes altima also I installed a 712t. Like it won't arm the factory alarm unless a door is open when you lock the doors with the remote. The domelight supervision will only work if you have shut the door within 2 minutes. Push the panic button and the dome light flashes too. The factory disarm wire works and turns off the security light everytime though.

There are a few different bypasses he could have used...The model # would narrow down the options of what is wrong...The model # is not listed on the receipt...? on some vehicles you have to cut and incorporate the securty L.E.D  w/ the bypass...!

Oh and BTW...Just because the unit can do something does not mean that it is included in the price...We sell alarms w/o keyless all the time...Unless he charged you for that feature...Why would he include it...Did you specifically ask for that feature...An additional labor charge would be added for sure...!

so horror storry here ... for me at least.

2004 nissan 350z manual.

viper 5901 w/remote start.

local shop installed and works great! except the doors dont lock half the time! but the alarm engages all the time. just the doors dont seem to lock sometimes.

they said they installed it with a modual and they program my car into it.

any pointers why its doing this? help plz! also it kinda lags when i press the lock on the remote. the remote itself dosnt lag.. but takes the car a couple seconds sometimes for the alarm to engage.

thanks!

The door lock wires are only accessible in the drivers door. I have no idea what kind of module they used, but they should be able to connect the door locks the old fashioned way.

Have them replace the module that they installed and see if that fixes the problem.  While they are replacing the module have them make sure they soldered all their wires.

I'm with I am an idiot, have them hardwire the door locks.  While they are in there, have them enable the comfort closing feature of the system.  Once done, not only will you have door locks that work but you'll also have windows that open and close with the remote.

I believe the 5901 is a two way system.  DEI 2 way systems tend to lag.  You'll get used to it.  I know I almost have.

Hmm... it seems like I've typed all of this already!

i just dont have much faith in this shop.. let alone let them rip open my door paneles.. :( looks like i have no choice.

they keep telling me that the modual does EVERYTHING! they download some stuff onto from the computer threw a usb. they said no wiring needed?

i am gonna go argue today.. telling them to wire it to the door. any other info would be appreciated for my arggument lol

Kevin'  Viper remotes take time?  Try turning the alarm off when you've triggered it in front of a customer for testing.  The only two ways that seem to work from that stable are the LED versions.

did they used a univeral bypass that requires a key or a bypass without using the key? if they used a bypass that doesn't require a key in the box, then they did not cut the LED wire in half and connect that to the bypass module. i used an Xpresskit bypass and the manual said to cut the LED wire in half and connect that to the bypass module.

and for the door locks i am having problem with that also on an 2005 350Z 6 speed. i did run the lock wires into the door, but door lock doesn't work 100% of the time. i'm thinking it is the 5901 brain.
