I have an FAI-820 keyless entry controller installed in my 1990 Eclipse with OE security system.  Everything is working just fine, but my exceedingly limited remote range undercuts the value of the "car finder" function.  The FAI-820 is located on the floor behind the center dash radio stack, with the antenna wire extended toward the firewall and angled up behind the accelerator.

Is there a way to seriously increase the remote range, increasing the wire length perhaps?

I have never heard of that system, and i have a feeling if it's a low end, cheap piece. and the range will be poor anyway! But it never hurts to try extending the antenna to it's full length, and sticking it on the windshield and see if it helps!
