Hi All,
I bought a car(2001 Hyundai accent 2 door manual) an year ago that came with powerstart remote car starter(an after market one). The transmitter is a 2 button 1 way transmitter P9000 series(REM T2) https://www.gitsecurity.com/products/accessories/transmitters_eng.htm . It is an oval shaped transmitter with a little larger red button and a smaller green button. I did not use the remote start during the past year, since I had to leave the car on first gear(uphill parking) in my previous home. Now that I have moved to a new place, I would want the remote start to work before winter starts. I have attached the remote start user manual in the links below. If you find any difficulties in accessing them, please let me know.

My questions are as follows:
1) arming/disarming: is this basically doors lock and unlock or something else?
2) how do i find out if arming/disarming works already?
3) I followed the sequence and programmed it for remote engine start. After I exit and close the door, the engine automatically shuts off. Then when I press the green button, the engine starts back again. But after I enter the car (I did not put the keys back in) (I do not know if to put the keys back in or not) and when I release the hand brake and press the clutch, the engine turns off. Am I doing something wrong or do I have to program it for keyless programming mode.

I'm really confused. Newbie. No shortforms pls........Thanks in advance.

Well since i dont know what shortforms are... ill keep my explanation to myself...I will say that if your not putting your keys in the ignition and turning them to the ON position...I dont think the car will remain running once you shut the remote start off...Just a thought...(sure hope this is not a shortform...!?) Well first we have to figure out if your vehicle has factory security(or is this an alarm/ remote start combo...?)...Start w/ opening the drivers door...Press the lock button on the door switch(make sure you roll the window down) ...Shut the door...Wait 60 seconds and open the door...Is the horn honking or lights flashing...If nothing happens , I would say it is safe to assume NO factory security...You can do the same thing w/ remote starting the vehicle...Open drivers door...hit lock on switch...shut door...wait 60 seconds and then remote start vehicle...Lights flashing or horn honking...If nothing happens here...You either dont have factory security...or the unit is working properly and dis-arming it for you...! (im sorry, but im not going back through this for punctuation...!)

The handbrake (that's what we call them, I thought you lot called them pasrking or ebrakes) is probably the R/S detente, I suggest unlocking car, turn on ignition, foot on footbrake then release parking brake, that should solve the problem. **A short form is a tax claim written by a dwarf** I had to beat Kar Tune there didn't I.
