I hoping someone here can help me confirm that I have faulty 5901.

Install vehicle: 2009 Ford F-150 Lariat

I just completed installing the 5901, and the alarm portion works perfectly.  However, the remote start portion seems to be faulty.  The problem I'm having is that as soon as I apply power to the H3/9 Starter Relay Input wire (e.g. plugging in the fuse), the 5901 is immediately applying power to the H3/4 Starter Output wire.  This results in the vehicle attempting to start (unsuccessfully though since the PATS bypass module is not active at this point).  Even with the 5901 out of the vehicle on a bench with no wiring attached, I am able to verify with a multimeter on the continuity setting, that the H3/9 and H3/4 contacts are connected (presumably via an internal relay).  I believe this is incorrect and H3/9 should only provide power to H3/4 when a remote start is in progress.  Can anyone confirm that this is the case?

Thanks...

Greg

Just an update...I got the Viper 5901 replaced with a new unit, and the problem is resolved.
