hello all.  I have searched and searched and I cannot seem to find the right way to phrase it or something, however, the problem goes like this.  I am installing an alarm system (Stealth install) and have converted the manual doors to power, wired up a central locking relay gizmo.  and now!  the alarm system only has a (-) door trigger input,  I have a positive door pin system (94 ford ranger)  I have attempted to use a relay to reverse the polarity but that didn't work..  any suggestions?  please help I would really like to get the vehicle back to my client asap....

When you buy cheap alarms off eBay or the flea market you get a cheap product with fewer options. If your alarm had a jumper, you would have probably seen it already. Any diagrams or pics of the manual for the alarm you could post?

You need to use a relay to switch the polarity.
86 - positive door pin wire in truck
85 and 87 to ground
30 to (-) door trigger input of alarm.

On the above configuration, having 30 and 87 reversed would not keep it from working.

Wasn't the Ford Ranger built by Mazda?  If so it would be neg.  Which is why the relay didn't work. It would only show pos when the door was closed.

Thats What I thought, 30 and 87 reversed shouldn't matter,  however, the alarm is triggered when doors are closed as opposed to when they are open.  the alarm triggers backwards basically and it does this with and without the relay.....  any thoughts?

What wire (color?) in the truck are you connected to? It should be BLACK/ Light Blue (+) at the underdash light. This is a simple thing to do. Just have to wire a relay as I stated a few posts up.
