Hey Guys, can anyone shed some light on this problem for me?  OK, here's the basics:

02 Grand Prix w/ factory laarm and keyless

Crimestopper add on R/S 0 module for remote start,

Crimestopper GM-TBU Bypass ( aka: Fortin Pats GM)

R/S is working but I'm having trouble programing the bypass.  Followed instructions, and when security light goes off after remote starting, module is programed. BUT; the light never goes out, Module not programed. Thier website says it's a module time out issue because of 5 sec window. They say to hot wire ign and ground the "ground out while running" wire right after you pull the 2nd key out. This is also not working. Has anyone experianced this problem before?

Any help would be aprieciated, Thak You.

Remove the chip from the module case and try the first programming sequence you had. This is the way that I do it and it works everytime.

Hi, thanks foe the info, but could you be more specific about the chip and where its at in the case. The instructions don't say anything about a chip.

Thanks,

Inside the module there is a chip ( PK3 ). One thing about these kits is that you must have the induction ring on the key cylinder pretty tight. I usually hot glue the ring to the cylinder as added help to the self adhesive that comes with the rings. Check to make sure that the ring is on the key cylinder tight and try the programming sequence again. If successful the car will stay running after you remote start it.

I personally have had alot of bad luck with fortin chip in a box bypasses.

The fortin data bypasses I have always  had good luck with and can say I have never had one bad.

I have gotten to the point that I don't even use them anymore ,I use bypasskits for chip in a box and  they work everytime.

Do I leave the chip out, or put it back in after programing?
