unplug the 12? pin harness that powers the brain for a minute or so and plug it back in.... these units had issues with the out-of-range notification circuit, that was remedied by "rebooting" the brain.....

I have add the remote still having problem.  I have unplugged my brain for 3 hours and it is still doing it.  Is there a firmware upgrade for these things.  It really anyoing.  I am thinking about just buying a new system.  Not happy with DEI on this one.

I found this info any one have any incite on this??

Directed will be shipping out new brians in the next few months with a firmware update that resolves this issue completely. Depending on where it was purchased, I would believe most retailers will do a swap for you when those are shipped and become available. In the meantime there is a fix. Place a 10,000 ohm resistor in series with the blue wire on the antenna lead as close to the brain as possible. Hope this helps!

no you cannot, just add the 10k ohm resistor to the antenna lead as described.

I have the same problem with my 5701 two way remote. Unplugged the brain and still have the same problem. Has anyone added the 10k ohm resistor in series? Just seeing if that works. Thanks

Are you using any D2D device? If so, manually wire in your lock/unlock via the harness to your 3 pin on the brain. Then snip the red and white wires on the D2D cable. If that works then it was D2D.

I am using an XK01 but I did not use the D2D cable I manually connected all the wires.

Thanks

Have you tried replacing the battery in the remote, or checked the antenna cable and connections, sometimes the wires at the harness that plugs into the antenna get pinched.

I have replaced the batteries no help. I will check the antenna wires to see if they are pinched. What about putting the 10kohm resistor does that work.

Thanks
