Im having a little trouble understanding the wiring on this module with a Viper 5901 ASA. The system is being installed in a 2006 Jeep Commander. I cant use the RS232 cable so standard wiring is required. the idatalink is rs232 and the ASA is D2D which seems to be different style plugs. As for the standard wiring, not sure what to wire these module wires to...

panic [-] input
starter [+] input
Lock/Arm [-] input
Unlock/Disarm [-] input
trunk [-] input

Also what determines 2-way datalink? Last but not least... the relay required, is that purchased separately and if so where can I get one and what size should the diode for the "ground-out when running" be?

Thanks for any help in advance. Im kinda stuck until I can get this figured out.

Got the relay and diode figured out. Also found out where the panic and trunk are hooked up. Any help for the others?

You have to connect the BLACK/ white starter wire to the RS postive start wire so it knows when to control the multiplex output.

The lock and unlock wires connect to the RS brain to control the locks. Not familiar with the DEI unit but if you are installing keyless you need them connected.

I never use D2D, too many issues. Spend the few minutes and directly wire them together for better install, just be sure to program accordingly.

Do the vehicle lock wires still need to be connected to the RS if I have an iDataLink module installed?
