I recently purchaced this 06' Impreza that the previous owner had installed a remote start in (autostart AS-1775), car is a manual transmission. The car will start fine with the remote starter but the power door locks don't work from the Auto Start remote, when I put the car in "ready mode" I have to press the lock button on the remote starter fob to shut the car off once I exit the car and that works fine but it doesn't physically lock the doors. Then when I want to start the car I have to first press the unlock button on the factory fob and then the start button on the Auto start fob, then the car starts.

Any idea what I can do to fix this?, I'd rather carry one key fob around instread of two.

Thanks.

Clint.

Does the car have the factory alarm installed? If so, you will need to put it in valet mode, or unplug it. It can only be disarmed from the factory remote. To test if it has an alarm, sit in the car and lock the car with the factory remote. Wait at least a minute and then unlock the door by hand and open it. Horn start beeping? If so, you have the OEM alarm.

The previous owner probably never hooked up the AS-1775 to the OEM lock/unlock wires. Some shops charge extra and maybe the owner was not willing to pay extra for it.

You have an install manual for the AS-1775? You will need to hook the lock and unlock wires up to the following wires:

Power Lock RED / white   -   gray plug at integrated module
Power Unlock yellow/red   -   gray plug at integrated module
Notes: The integrated module is to the left of the steering column.

I hope you have a multimeter and some tools.

which can ONLY be controlled with the O.E. transmitter.
