Hello 12volt members!
First I want to thank everybody here and also the website administrators. Thanks to all the info you guys have I was able to install succesfully my alarm, door actuators and remote starter. I will try to give back what you guys give me.
Guys, my remote start sometimes cranks too much. The car is starts on and running fine but sometimes it still cranks for about 3 more seconds.
Is this a problem with the Tach???
My alarm is an UltraStart TL2250M. On the manual I see that there is some options in the tach. One is setting a "Low Idle Tach Learning", the second one is "Adjust for Over-Crank" and the other is "Adjust for UnderCrank".
Do you guys know what are this options for???? or if they can help me with the problem??
Thanks a lot again!:D
The Adjust for Overcrank is the option you want to use. There are several adjustment increments that allow you to shorten the amount it cranks over. Keep adjusting it from Programmimg mode until it has just enough crank to fire the engine. As excess cranking will prematurely damage your vehicle's starter. Another thing to try is resetting the brain using the instructions in the manual and re-tach learning. If the engine doesn't get a stable idle for several seconds while tach learning you can try just slightly applying the gas to give it a more steady idle speed while tach learning. If you still can't figure it out, give AST a call. Those guys have excellent tech support and are usually right there to answer your call.
iskidoo,
I reduced two levels in the Over-Crank menu and now its perfect. Thanks a lot for your help. I am begining to learn more about the system.
Thanks again
