Hey Guys,

I am installing a Compustar Pro Alarm/Starter P2W900 (CM5000 Brain) and have a small problem. I noticed that the Aux outputs are always showing Voltage (12+) but when you trigger them on the remote the outputs do not go to ground. I am using these outputs to trigger relays (One for Rear Defrost and one for Drivers Heated Seats). I have manually tested my relays and they trigger and operate the defrost and seats just fine.

I am an Installer with 10+ years of Experience and have a lot of experience with the previous Compustar units bu8t this is my first time working with the new Pro Series.

Am I missing something? I did remove it from Secure Aux mode as well and it shows on the remote AUX1 and AUX2 but the output does not pulse or latch (As I have programmed them to latch).

I think the Aux Outputs on the brain is toast but I just wanted to know what you guys think or if there is something I have overlooked.

FYI:

In case you are wondering the Drivers Heated Seat Wire is Pink coming from the Harness with the yellow plug from the center console and it is Positive Multiplex trigger. Use a 1K Resistor for high heat and use around 1.8K for low heat setting. You will not get any light indication from the dash but the seats will turn on. Use a Latched Setting for the AUX output as well.

For Rear Defrost the White wire in the Pink Plug (Top Left Corner) is a Negative Trigger and I highly suggest you use a relay for it (even though tech support says otherwise). You will not get any visual indication on the dash that the heat is on but if you feel the rear window you can feel it getting warm. Use Latched for this as well unless you are able to set around 8 Mins AUX timeout.

For both of these features make sure you power your relays from IGN to prevent these from being operated without the vehicle running (And will shut them off if the vehicle shuts down).

Thank You!

Have you activated the aux outputs on the brain via the compustar programmer??? If i am not mistaken you have to use that to enable it first. After it is enabled then those outputs will go to ground when you press the remote. My power probe does show ground when the outputs are activated.

BTW, What wires did you use as your outputs?

Just liek what enice said, you have to activate them first and if you think that the outputs are fried from the two that you connected, you can always move them to another wire because the CM5000 platform uses 9 POC's that you can choose from.

You can use any of the 9 POC wire and program them to # 10 ( AUX 1 ) and # 11 ( AUX 2 )

Better yet, you can program one of the POC to option #12 for DEFROST or # 17
