I have a DEI starter installed on my 07 Tahoe. I did not do this install as it was in the truck when I bought it. Is there any way to make both the factory and DEI remotes work? The only remote I can use when the starter is plugged in is the DEI, if I use the factory remote the alarm goes off when the key goes in the ignition. I like the factory remote because my wife likes to have the illumination when unlocking the truck in a dark parking lot. Any help is appreciated.

so its a remote starter/alarm combo i assume, no way for factory remote to disarm aftermarket alarm, easiest solution is to have a quailty installation place wire in domelight supervision relay to viper system so when you disarm the viper it turns the domelight on like the factory

you can have your DEI system wired for the illumination feature just like the factory one.

I am not sure if it is a starter alarm combo, but it must be. Is there any way to disarm the remote start alarm? My main concern is that my wife uses the factory remote sometimes to unlock the door and the alarm goes off on her. Plus she feels more comfortable with the illumination feature. I will post back the exact DEI model in a little while, I don't remember off hand and will have to drop the dash cover to check it.

have the illumination feature hooked up by an installer and have your wife quit using the factory fob, the viper remote should be hooked up to do everything the factory remote does once you have the domelight supervision hooked up

The unit is a 562T. Basically all I need to do is get the illumination working. I can get a second remote and put the factory remotes away for the winter. I have not been able to find a manual for the 562T to hook up illumination, anybody know this off hand? I will probably be doing the illumination myself, I have been out of the 12volt installing business for about 5 years, but I should be able to handle it.

I want to set the DEI system up to activate my headlights, reverse lights and interior lights as does the factory remote. What do I need to do? Right now when I disarm the system, the headlights flash 3 times? I am not the original installer, this unit was in the truck when I purchased it. I hope I don't have to go thru the whole thing to make sure it was done correctly.

in order to do this you would need to wire 3 relays off the domelight supervision wire on the 562t(diode isolating them) and wire into the domelight wire, the headlight wire and the reverse light wire( but i think even on factory this is overkill! do you really need this much light when you unlock your doors?)and its not that tehy didnt wire it properly, domelight supervision is an option therefore when it was installed the customer elected not to have this option installed to save money(or it may not have been offered to them) the headlights and reverselights wouldnt usually be an offered option unless requested so dont feel it is installed improperly it just doesnt have options wired in, you shoudl be able to find wire diagram for 562t here and then you just wire up your 3 relays so when you unlock the relays turn these lights on

I probably will just do the dome and headlights. I need to figure out why the headlights flash when disarming the unit.

more than likely flash due to the bypass/interface required on these trucks for the doorlocks(its disarming the factory alarm
)

Well I was checking everything with the system today and the hatch of the truck does not lock or unlock with the DEI remote. Just the front and rear doors. I can press and hold the AUX to open the hatch window though. What do I need to do to get the Hatch lock working?
