Hey guys, looking for some advise or help.I installed a 1 way compustar into a 2001 honda civic last winter and the thetf light now flashes when the vehicle is started with the key. I am using a key-overide all for the transponder bypass. Although it is not stopping the car from starting, I need to resolve the flashing. During my troubleshooting I noticed that even though my connections appear to be correct, if I plug the 6 pin connector in by itself it causes the theft light to flash,seems weird as this 6 pin does not contain the 2 connections for the security light. Could it be the connetions to the Data,Gwr,or Ignition causing this issue. Any hints, help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hey maxcat
The wires you need for the bypass are RED / blue and Blue/Orange. I believe RED / blue is the data and Blue/orange is the theft light. I could be wrong but I believe all the mods do is open the theft light wire on a relay so it doesn't flash while remote started. It sounds like you are up in the column getting theses wires because you said "at the plug" I usally just get them in the thick harness leading up to the igniton they are the only wires of these colors in that loom.

Hey, Ritopkid06 thanks for the reply. Those are indeed the wires that I am using, I am using a KEY-OVERIDE ALL module from Fortin and have since programmed a new one with the same result. Very unusual as both modules work, and the light only flashes when you start the vehicle with the key.It almost seems like when I have the data wire hooked up, this causes the theft ligh to flash. Without the data wire hooked up the light does NOT flash but the car will not start remotely I will keep pluging away,and again thanks for the reply.

Do you have the keyside and ECM side right on the module ?

Hey Jeff, Thanks very much for the reply. Funny you should ask that, because I did notice a discrepency between the paper work of the module and the fortin online connections, so yes indeed I did try both ways with again the same result. The reason ( and I could be wrong) that I am wondering about the data wire is, I connected the cars theft light back up normally (no bypass wires connected) but still had the IGN and DATA wires hooked up and when started with the key, the light continued to flash. Is there a way with a dmm to verify which wire would be the key side or ecm side of the module. Another note, this R/S was put in almost a year ago, and this is the first mention of this from the customer. Once again Thanks so much for your reply and help

Just a thought but is it possible that the bypass is active all the time ? Maybe check or remove the ground when running wire from R/S to see if problem goes away?? Im not sure how hondas react when it sees 2 keys?

Hey, todds440 thanks for the reply. I also thought of that and tested the GWR output, and it works correctly as the led on the bypass module also only goes on during the remote start process.I did also check the GWR wire with a dmm. So that seems to work properly. Thank-you again for the suggestion

Ensure that you used the IGNITION from the key cylinder and not at the immobilizer module harness. Test to make sure of this. Also, if the Fortin moduel has a bar code on it, reflash it to the newest firmware.

Hey Jeff, thanks again for the reply. Indeed I did use the ignition wire at the immobilizer harness, as this is what the fortin bypass module shows on the paperwork. Can this cause that kind of issue, and have you had this same scenario. I will try that when I get the vehicle back. Once again, thanks again for the help
