Hello everyone I'm attemtping to install a remote start on my 1998 Corvette.  I have an XK06 bypass kit flashed with PLXR firmware. I have tried all wire combos I can think of but iI still cannot get the car to start. There are two connectors on the bottom of the ignition cylinder. The connectors have the ignition, accesory, starter wires etc. There are 3 wires that i'm not sure what they are. A tan wire that shows ground but the resistance increases when i put in the key, a black wire that shows ground and a green and black wire that also shows ground.  There are also 2 white wires that come from the front of the ignition switch cylinder.

What passlock system does a 98 corvette use? passlock I, II, III

Any ideas on what wires I should connect this XK06 bypass to?

Below is a picture of my ignition switch and it's wires.

I attemtping to install it using the last page of this manual. https://bypasskit.com/getdocument.aspx?documentid=783

Thanks for any help!

Here is the bypass for the VATS system... https://documents.audiovox.com/700052.pdf ... I would recommend doing away with those scotchlocks...There not supposed to be used in high current applications(remote starts)...

From your picture it appears to be the black harness running down in the right side of the picture...Although they are usually wrapped in orange...! You have a chip a little past half-way up your key...? There is also a way to permanently bypass it...Although you lose that step of security...But the keys are cheaper to buy...Probably just stick with the bypass link i sent you(thinking out-loud)...Keep the vats...!

i know the two wires in the black heat shrink belong to the vats but i found it wierd that the tan wire coming out of the bottom of the ignition switch changes in resistance when i put in the key

You could cut the wires for the vats and put in a resistor...One end of the resistor to each side of the 2 wires in the harness...This would be permenantly bypassed...not sure about the tan wire...Although i pretty sure it not involved with the vats...! Ot at least the bypassing of!
