Hey, thanks for looking.  I am fairly new to this board, but i have couple questions on a 96' Cherokee remote start install.

First, I purchased the Clifford Intellistart 4 and currently have the Intelligaurd 7000 Alarm system.  I looked at the wiring database for this vehicle on this site but i have found that the wires are different from what it says in the database (Ignition 2 = Orange instead of Purple..Checked with multimeter).  I also have the Cliffnet computer program.  I did not connect the following wires :

Factory Alarm Bypasses, Reverse Light wire, Hood input (on alarm), Brake Light (on alarm), Dashboard glow indicator wires (diesel engines only i believe), Heater/AC and Heater 2 wires.

As for my problem, I'm currently stuck on the RPM Monitoring.  I have connected the BLACK/ grey wire to the BLACK/ white wire on the Ignition Coil.  I turned on the car and tried to program my RPM via Cliffnet.  It says NOCODE so i'm guessing my RPM isn't being read.  When i test my remote start, it Starts, but dies after 3 seconds or so.  Is there any settings i have to set?  or is it the RPM wire?

I just bought the Clifford Alternator RPM detector sensor, but i want to hear from you Alarm/Remote start Gurus first before i attempt to hack apart the car again.  Thanks!

If this is just the regular Cherokee then you grabbed the wrong wire. It's :

TACHOMETER----------------gray/blue----------------|  -  |------------------PCM*1

*1 Powertrain control module located on left inner fender behind headlight.

Hey, thanks for replying.  Anyways, i did use the gray/blue wire behind the instrument cluster and it didn't work either.  Is there a difference where i connect it to (to Instument cluster or PCM)?

I also read that the ground may be bad and thats why the tach wire isn't being read correctly?  Any other things i need to do?  thanks!

ok, the Tach wire from the PCM seems like it goes directly to the Instrument panel itself.  Anyways, im gonna hook that up tomorrow and see if theres any difference.  Also, i did hook up the Alternator sensor and it doesn't work either (probably the way the alternator is hooked up, has Main power cable and a box which i have no idea what it is).

Is there any other possible attachments i can make if all else fails?  Thanks
