I just bought an '09 Volkswagen GTI and am trying to install an alarm. I haven't really tested anything because I heard that VW's in particular are very strange as far as wiring goes. It's funny because I've probably done 200 car alarm installs, but when it comes to my own car I want to play it safe
 .
I guess what I'm really interested in is the locking system, hood and trunk pin, trunk unlock and maybe the tach wire. Directechs doesnt seem to have any info either, so I'm at a loss.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

No but it's next to (New) Scotland, North East of London (Ontario), North of (New) York and New London and let's not forget KTM land + the City both named after George who I think (?) hailed from Washington in Durham North East England, not the other Durham in North Carolina, as for the others they're all, Native American inc. Inuit, Spanish and French, isn't Seattle Native American?

Idatalink and Fortin both have interace modules for this vehicle. GREAT modules and easy to install. If your not worried about remote start, then this is all you need.

I would pick up one of THESE as it will come in handy for much more...
I just had a Viper 5902 installed in my 09. Everything works with a few issues... The Trunk Release doesn't work... and the Remote Start turns on all the outside lights.. Not just the parking lights.
It also flashes the Headlights when you unlock the doors when Remote Start is engaged. We've tried wiring it a few different ways, but, no luck. I really want this fixed
I also changed some of the coding in VAG COM to disable the Lock and unlock flash of the parking lights through the cars system as it was being done already from the Alarm system.( I had lights flashing double time when doing any lock/unlock)
