Ok I have a 2006 Mazda 3 with an Autopage rs-622 and a pkford xk04 bypass. When it was put in my car I didn't have a second key to program it to start at the time. Now I have the key, and would like to finish myself just don't really know how. I can't get anyone to help around here they just want me to pay them. The door locks work good just won't start.

Copied from the instructions for you:

1- Turn the first valid key to "ON" position, until the security light goes OFF. Put the key OFF and remove from ignition.
2- Within 5 seconds, turn the second valid key to "ON" position until security light goes OFF. Put the key OFF and remove from ignition.
3 - For automatic transmission vehicle, start the vehicle with remote starter, the module is
programmed.

I tried that and it didn't do anything. My car still won't start.

Can you be a little more vague? It didn't do anything?
Do you know where the security light is?
Is it turning solid?
What happens when you try to remote start it?

Where did you get your key programmed? Was it done at the dealership or a locksmith? If your key was "cloned" then you won't be able to program that bypass

I know for a fact that the XK04 is really unstable with newer Ford/Mazda vehicules, make sure you have the latest firmware flashed into the module......your led on the XK04 should be flashing at the same time your security light is flashing in the car, if not...you don't have the right TX / RX.  Also make sure your orange wire of the XK04 is taped on the cars ignition wire.  I use to install the XK04 but changed to the iDataLink ADS-TB which works perfect..much more reliable.  Anyways, the easiest way to program the XK04 is to insert the first key without turning the ignition switch....jump the ignition wire with a jumper and wait for the led on the module to shut off then do the same with the second key...then remove the second key and jump the ignition again and ground the brown wire (out when running) and wait for the led to turn off on the module....your module is programmed.

Second, the instructions probably don't mention it but both keys have to be master keys(black). A gray valet key will not ever get you into immobilizer programming mode.

Third, I've run into this with quite a few XK04s. Power the ignition up with each key separately, activate the remote starter quickly enough, and you get the stupid flashing theft light and no crank.

If that's the case and you're using 2 non-cloned master keys, try going through the programming cycle again.

After the remote start has powered up and presumably the theft light is flashing, wait one second or so and then hit the brake to shut it off.

Once you've done this, turn the ignition on with a key until the theft light goes out. Turn it off and attempt to remote start - in my experience everything starts to work normally at this point.

I've never read anything that says why this should happen, but I've yet to get a complaint and some of these were done years ago, so it's a good tip as far as I'm concerned.

I got the key form a Mazda dealership and they did the programing. As far as I can tell I've the keys programed to the bypass the light flashes with the theft light on the dash, but it still doesn't do anything when I try to start. Is there any programing I need to do on the rs-622 starter that I need to do be for it will start?

Make sure your brown wire of the XK04 is taped onto the "Ground when running wire" of the remote starter...+12v, ground, ignition, TX, RX....it should work unless the ground when running does not work.

The brown wire is hooked up to the ground when running wire. Is there something I need to do with the valet switch. I seem  to remember the guy that put this in my car he was trying to get to work with one key. He was pushing the switch so many times and then turned the key so many times. I don't know if this is right or if I saw thing wrong just hope to figure this thing out.

It sounds to me like you may not even have a bypass issue yet. You first need to get the unit to try to remote start the car. If it tries to start the car and the car just cranks, then you have a bypass issue. Do you have the owners manual? I am not familiar with Autopage units. The unit may be in valet mode if it won't attempt to remote start the car.

I looked at an owners manual for a different Autopage unit in the Downloads section. It says to turn on/off valet mode turn the ignition on and then hold the valet button for two seconds. If the l.e.d. is on then it is in valet mode, if its off it is not in valet mode. Do you have an l.e.d. installed? Is it on or off?

The car never cranks over, and is not in valet mode I checked that frist. I got the operations manual, but I didn't get any thing for the installation. Is anyone know anything about the rs-622 from autopage?

If you unplug the xk04 and insert one of the keys in the key cylinder, does it start?  If not, you may have a tach problem....I'm also not familiar with the Autopage product...I tried to find an installation guide on the web but I was not lucky....Make this test before doing anything else, it will tell you if you have a bypass problem or a wiring problem...

Let me know...

I tried unpluging the bypass with a key in and it didn't do anything. The only thing that happens when I hit the start button on the lcd remote it beeps three time, and that's it.

Without knowing the product RS622, it sounds like valet mode......

That is one thing i know it is not. I can put it in valet mode and it shows on the lcd remote.

If by "it doesn't do anything" you mean that the parking lights don't flash at all like the car's going to start - check the hood switch input(this should NOT be grounded) and the neutral safety input(this MUST be grounded).

If you mean that the parking lights flash, dash lights come on like they would with the key turned to run, but the car doesn't crank - this would indicate a problem with the bypass.

The only thing that happens is my remote beeps three time no lights. The guy that installed this didn't hook up the hood switch. I would hook one up myself, but don't have and can't find the installation manual anywhere.

The problem here sounds like either the remote isn't programmed properly(does it work the door locks at all?) or the hood switch wire is grounded, or the neutral safety wire is NOT grounded. Forget about the bypass for the time being.

Hi,

I'm in Canada and I'm a certified installer (17 years to be exact) from Gauthier Auto Glass in Hawkesbury, Ontario.  One of my customers brought me a RS622 remote start to install and we don't have an installation manual,  how do I go about getting one?  It would appreciated if you could email me a copy at info@gauthierautoglass.com as soon as possible so I can book the installation.

Reset your XK04, follow the bottom instructions on page 2 of the manual I just emailed you.....Then insert key 1..turn the ignition to on and wait til the led on the xk module goes out then remove the key, insert key 2 and do the same, after the led is  out, remove key 2 and start the car....it might not start but it's ok at this time....wait 1 minutes and try it to remotly start the car...it should start like a charm.....now, make sure your ground out wire is plugged to the brown wire of the xk module during the above procedure....let me know.
