i've got a viper 350HV that came installed in my car ('88 mitsubishi) when i bought it.
car has auto door locks, but the viper isn't activating them. i just removed the dash from my car to investigate, and it seems like there's a little part of the wiring harness missing that's supposed to be connected to the door lock control.
see photo:
the center 3-terminal connector is labelled "white 3-pin door lock port," but has nothing attached. i tested the terminals of that center 3-pin connector, and:
left: intermittent current when push "lock" on remote.
center: constant power.
right: intermittent current when push "unlock" on remote.
question is
how do i wire this to my locks?
where do i get one of these little "3-pin" connector doohickies?

Go to a Viper dealer, if they are like I am, they probably have a full box of door lock harnesses...I would give one to you if you would come to my shop but I'm in Hawkesbury, Ontario.....if you get one, it's a 3 pins plug with a green and a blue wire.....green is negative lock and blue is negative unlock.....if you switch them around, blue is positive lock and green is positive unlock. hope it helps..... ------------- Sylvain Rochon

okay, thanks...so, once i get one of those, then what?
from the looks of this, it would appear i've got to somehow run those blue and green wires into the door?
for my mitsubishi, it says "Door Lock Blue/Red (-) Driver's Kick Panel at Door Lock Relays "
does that mean i take the blue VIPER wire into the blue door relay wire, and the green viper wire to my red?

The green wire of the viper goes directly on the Blue/red in the driver kick panel (blue with a red stripe)
The blue wire of the viper goes directly on the BROWN / White in the driver kick panel (brown with a white stripe) Do that and you'll have working door locks on you viper remote.

in my mitsubishi shop manual, it looks like there's a Blue/Red "Lock" wire going between the "door lock control unit" and the "door lock power relay," and also from the battery, as well as from the "power relay" to each "door lock actuator."
looks as if the BROWN / White "Unlock" wire only goes between the "Door Lock control unit" and the "Door lock power relay."
where, in this crazy circuit, do i tie in the Viper?

Take a regular test light and probe the 2 wires, your door locks should react.....then connect the wire as I told you, you'll be fine.

done!
installer at Best Buy #1 said they had no 3-pin wires (in a really jerky way).
installer at Car Toys poked around for quite awhile, and then said he had no 3-pin wires (in a really apologetic way).
installer at Best Buy #2 tried to tell me the only way to get a 3-pin wire was to buy a remote lock actuator for $40...then another installer came in and pulled the wire out of the drawer, and sold it to me for $5.
i've now got remote locks.

You should move to Canada, I would have given one to you...I've got a full box of them, I keep them when I do an install in a vehicule that as no door locks for exactly this reason, help out a customer in need. I guess we canadians are too generous..... Good for you, you have remote door lock for $5... Til next time....
