Quick question guys I put a car starter in this truck but cant keep the truck running for over ten seconds. I don't believe it is a bypass issue as I tried remote starting the truck with the key in the ignition and it did the same thing.

The truck is very basic wiring all it has is a second starter.

What could be causing the truck to not stay started? Did I not properly hook up the second start relay?

Thanks in advance, Emerson.

sounds like the tack is not connected but most of those trucks do need a bypass kit  This vehicle will Requires a Anti-Theft Bypass Module

For my bypass I am using an ads TB by idatalink with a nustart 1000b I used voltage senseing so I will give tachometer a whirl do you think that is most likely the issue?

If you used voltage sense, did you change the setting on the CPU to voltage sense ?

In that case, it's not the tach problem because it doesn't detect tach when in voltage sense mode. When it stops running, does the Passlock light flash on the dash ?

second starter??   don't think i've ever done a GM vehicle with 2nd starter....   did you mean 2nd IGN?

leaving the key in the IGN does nothing as it is a PL II system....   it is likely a tach issue or a Passlock issue....

i always use voltage sense / 4 sec crank on these vehicles and have never had any issues.....     can you verify the firmware of your module?
