Hi all.....first I have to say that I cannot believe I haven't heard about this forum sooner. I think I have a simple question.....my girlfriends car is a 2000 Corolla and she had the valet 561r set up for about 2 years. She had it installed by circuit city but now they are closed! When ever she uses the remote start function now...it blows the EFI fuse on the main fuse block. Should I just buy a new brain and swap them out or is this something that needs to be repaired like a bad connection or something? Thanks very much in advance and I can't wait to read through all of the other topics here!

When you start the car normally, does the fuse pop?

No...the car operates normally. Also should mention the vehicle was purchased new and has not had had a single modification done to it. Only has 60k miles....dealer serviced....not a single speck of corrosion. This car is mint!

What is the purpose of the fuse that pops?

It is the EFI fuse.....controls the fuel and ignition.

If it were a wire grounding out somewhere it would have popped when the key started the car as well, so it may well be a faulty unit, i've never seen that though, especially with a dei unit!

Thanks for the help....The installation was really clean so I think I will go with the new unit and just plug it in. If the problem still persists....then I know it is something else but at least we will have a new unit that I shouldn't have to worry about for awhile! My girlfriend doesn't ask for much......all she wants is her remote start to work and a big diamond. I am trying to giver her at least one of those things!!

That wasn't one of my two choices that I was hoping to come through on for her!
