I have a DEI 552t that came out of a dodge minivan and now wou;d like to install that unit in a 2003 F-150. I have hooked up other brands before so that part of the install will go fine. I know in GM's The pass lock wires are up on the column in a tube and go somewhere else. Where are the ford's wires. also what bypass should I use. That dodge had some sort of bypass in it but i've never seen that brand. It had a clear plastic case with a couple of wires coming out of it and looked like an adjustmant(almost like an amplifier gain) knob inside. What should i measure the ohms at for the ford? any help is greatly appreciated.

fastgranny87,
The '03 F150 has PATS, which is a transponder based immobilizer, not a resistance based like GM's Passlock/Passkey systems. For a detailed explanation on the difference you can read my post here.
Forget about measuring ohms, they're irrelevant to this truck.
Here's a link to a Bypasskit search for that vehicle. Probably the easiest bypasses to find would be the 555P or the PKFM. Use one of those and you should be allright. ------------- C Renner's Auto Electronix
