Ok, so my weekend is done and I have to go back to work tomorrow and figure this truck out...... need help guys!!!  the DirectTech online tells me that:

Unlock is through a 819 ohm resistor.... and LOCK is through a 320 ohm ....

I have no trouble with the lock portion, however it tries to lock the vehicle on the disarm pulse.... this is apparently a ONE-WIRE system in these trucks.

I also cannot for the life of me find the ignition coil in the engine bay....

If anyone has done this vehicle using a Viper rem. start and keyless module, please help

For the locks your resistors are either backwards, or you used two 820 ohm resistors instead of the 330(make sure the stipes on the resistors are different colors). As for the ign coil I could look next time I see one but if you are in a hurry then you should set the alarm to voltage sensing and that will work.

Use an injector wire for tach.
You did use relays on the locks, correct? Try manually grounding the lock wire (thru the correct resistor) and see if it locks the vehicle. I always manually test the locks on cars that require resistors to make sure I have the correct resistor before I wire it up.   I have yet to see a new Ram with a factory alarm, and I probably did 6 or 7 this winter.

There are some out there but I have only seen one(factory alarm that is).

never use injectors this cause feedback even using the best remote starts out there if you have not had problems than your lucky especially with these new cars were they have many different computers like the ecm-engine control module. the bcm 0 body control module a whole lot that are computer controled and feedback is one thing you dont want. money is better well spent on spot we want and need instead of stuff that could be avoided and that you dred. and yes sound right on the resistors for lock and unlock but you musy isolate using relays setup as a negative trigger.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

I installed in an 03 over the weekend. I used a 820ohm and 330ohm for lock and unlock on the white green wire in the driver kick panel it worked fine. And the tach wire is giving me a check engine light right now so be careful I still havn't figured out what the problem is there

The tach will not give you a check engine error. It's probably one of the IGN or ACC wires that are not powered up during remote start that is giving you that error.

gmando, there is a red wire that test as an ignition and a RED / white wire that test as ignition. DEI list one or the other as 2nd ignition. Hooking up the wrong one will cause problems...one of which is a buzzing sound you can hear. when remote started. I believe the correct wire varies depending on production date or possibly what trim level you have. Try switching to the other wire and see if you get better results.

A tach wire is not going to give you a check engine light. As far as what djfearny2 said about injector wires causing problems....I think that is unique to his installs. I have never had a problem or heard of anyone else having a problem.
