Equipment: Viper 5501 + Idatalink
Vehicle: 2004 dodge Durango
Bypass type: Chip from key integrated to start
Issue: To bypass the factory alarm while starting, the installer programmed Viper to unlock/start/lock doors. This works, however I am now finding my doors unlocked every morngin when I walk out to the vehicle.
Thx
This vehicule does not require a unlock before start then re-lock after start cause the oem factory alarm disarms with the ignition turning on...now, if he installed resistors to control the door lock , read the following:
Comments: * VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A TRANSPONDER ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM AND AN OEM ALARM. OEM ALARM DISARMS WITH IGNITION.
** DOORLOCKS ARE MULTIPLEXED: PURPLE / GREEN GROUND (-) THROUGH A 330 OHM RESISTOR FOR LOCK. GROUND (-) THROUGH A 100 OHM RESISTOR FOR UNLOCK. * DOORLOCKS ARE MULTIPLEXED: LT GREEN/ ORANGE GROUND (-) THROUGH A 620 OHM RESISTOR FOR LOCK/ARM. GROUND (-) THROUGH A 1500 OHM RESISTOR FOR UNLOCK/DISARM. DOUBLE UNLOCK PULSE REQUIRED, FOUND AT BLACK PLUG, LEFT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. SEE DIAGRAM FOR PROPER CONNECTION.
If he uses the idata link module to control the doors lock, he can edit the module not to control the door lock passively. Also make sure that the remote starter is set to active door lock and not passive, all these options can be program with the dei techtool or can be programmed with the push switch provided with the remote start.
