Hi, i just installed a viper 5901. I followed this diagram https://ifar.ca/en/download/1873/can-sl2_nissan_infiniti_intellikey.rev-b.pdf . I am using the fortin CAN-SL2 bypass. i hooked everything up, doors unlock trunk pops, all that st uff works but when i hold the button to remote start no lights on the dash come on, but the navigation screen does come on and then shuts off, it tries to start 3 times. However if I put the car to the ON position and attempt to remote start it works perfectly fine. Anyone have any idea whats goin ? Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Sounds like you've got some of your ignition/accessory/start wires mixed up.

Even if you didn't get the transponder bypass right, the starter should still crank, even though the engine won't start.

Do this:

Unplug CAN-SL2 and set aside.

Withdray regular key from inside Maxima's Intelligent Key, insert into car's ignition. Don't turn key on.....just insert it there, in the Off position, and leave it like that.

Try remote start, does it work?

If it works, OK, you do have a problem with your CAN-SL2.

If the remote start still doesn't work, go back and recheck and retest your ignition and accessory wires.

I figured it out, the maxima has two ignition wires even though, they were not listed in the wiring sheet. I added a relay and powered the second ignition and it works perfect!
