Hi all I'm new hear and could use some help.i am installing a car alarm to a 2001 Citroen berlingo on sat morning but i may be out of my league.i can't find the specific wiring diagrams for the vehicle and I'm starting to panic.i have specialised in taximeter installations but have had to diversify resulting from the down turn.i do install phone kits and parking sensors, tow bars and the like but this is the first alarm and because it's a customer there's little room for mistakes.

I searched the forum but not much in the way of citroen so any info or direction would be very much appreciated.

Throw it away, then buy any of the following:- Clifford, Viper, Hornet, Scorpion, Toad, or Sigma. They all come from the same factory. The answer to your other questions is the BSI/fuse box. Indicators, door contacts, possibly tail and side doors, indicators and central locking. Drop the radio and the airvent above to get behind the inst. panel to mount the alarm ECU. Don't ask for colours, Peugeot/Citroen change them every other week any  way. Never buy anything electrical off flea-bay, if it sounds cheap, it probably won't work. Thoroughly check the car out first, it's French, make sure everything works. Then in two weeks, pm me and I'll install it for you.

Thanks for the response howie 11,I know all to well about the french wiring colouring, when locating a pulse signal the pulse wire can be green, white, yellow, red even on the same year and model they can differ between cars.

Is there a particular model of alarm I should go for,
TOAD AI606 THATCHAM CAT 1 CAR ALARM/IMMOBILISER SYSTEM

SCORPION CAR ALARM IMMOBILIZER REMOTE CENTRAL LOCKING

Scorpion SA30 Car Alarm

clifford concept 500 cat1 car alarm.

Or can you recommend a reliable dealer to purchase from.

Also do you mean install it physically or send instructions or over the phone as I'm located in Belfast.

Thanks again.

The physical part was a joke!  Of the alarms you mentioned, the Toad is a Cat l, so WAS the Clifford about 5 years ago, Concept 650 Mk ll now,  do you need a Cat l since the vehicle already has an immobiliser.

My favourite as an entry level is the Sorpion, it was also a Viper 1002 with Ultrasonics and a Toad 201 in previous incarnations, a good product. Suggest you contact Scorpion, who can give you more practical advice, they're in Manchester, physically nearer to you than London where I am.

Mike, never realised that stuff reached North America, but with Peugeot/Citroen, never give the colour, they vary, as does the lockinjg system, I've seen one wire ground + open circuit as you listed, also 2 wire neg, but I know go to the BSI box and pick up the motor wires, (5 wire).

Also this vehicle is a Van about Transit Connect size, it's got one rear and one side door, I've only once found the tailgate or hatch pin at the BSI box.

All Peugeots/Citroens and some Fiats use the same BSI box but pin configurations changed in 00 and again in 05. If slipdogg wants to pm me with his email address I'll gladly send him photos showing just what you listed. Sorry I didn't reply earlier, there seems to be a glitch with my hotmail, I'm not receiving email notification of replies.

Oh great then that would have gone to directechs (UK) from me in the bloody first place thenposted_image  Would you believe ign 2 on post 05 PSA cars have to be connected for the remote start BUT I then relay via the R/S status output  to disconnect it from the ignition switch because it's connected during  cranking and this feeds back if you are alarmed?  You also need ign 2 powered up to start the car. Yes I discovered that one as well. Except I can't think of any other car where ignition 2 gets powered up during the crank cycle AND is connected to ign 1. Sorry about typos in previous post I should have taken more care.

Just a follow up to my original question. I contacted scorpion alarms as suggested howe 11,I spoke to the rep who was very help.We have now started an agentship with them and placed our first order.I fitted the alarm to the berlingo on Sat passed, which turned out to be a total nightmare. The berlingo wasn't 2001 it was earlier so all the info I had and wirinig diagramms didn't match and with no experience to call on and nobody working on a Sat it took me 10 hours to fit it but I got there. I now have access to all the info I need via an agent account on the scorpion web site which is very informative.

I just want to say thanks to 12volt members for the help and direction,so cheers guys.

Told you, it's a great really reliable entry level product. Beats the doodie out of the latest un-programmable Cobra stuff and cheaper.
