I've always been a DEI fan, too, but their products of late seem to be awfully buggy.  I don't think you could go wrong with DEI, but there are some other alarms out there I would consider as well.

Dei all the way! Most of the bugs have been worked out i guess after the recall, done a couple lately, none have been problematic!

My "newer" Clifford 50.5X isn't all that impressive!  :)

I still haven't figured out the priority unlocking on it - sometimes when you shut the igntiion off it unlocks the normal unlock and the 2nd unlock and sometimes it only does the 1st unlock (nothing major, but it stil annoys me).

I also have long delays (2-3 seconds) sometimes when I hit the arm or disarm buttons.  I personally would like to see shorter, more reliable range over 1 mile somewhat inconsistent range!

Except Darren KP makes a very good point about the time lag on DEI remotes as against the CLIFFORD as distinct from rebadged Viper. Clifford trunk pop =instant, Viper, 2-3 secs. Also very noticeable when you're demonstrating an alarm, hit the button on a Clifford, it's off, Viper again about 3 secs. KP's 50x is I believe a rebadged 5901 Viper. Clifford Wiz was a much better diagnostic/programming system than Bitwriter, they just never upgraded or updated it.

Compustar has been bullet proof for us for about 5 years now. Long range and great support. Good sold system IMO.
