chrysler not entering key program

I'm having trouble getting a 2006 PT Cruiser to program mode .I am using a pkucg2x bypass kit.The unit is wired up correctly as it works fine with key in ignition and antenna loop unplugged.My trouble is I cant seem to be able to enter the sentry key programming mode using two keys.I use key #1 ok but when I use second key it never flashes the security light.Tried different key combos,waited longer etc -nothing..Is it possible that somehow the max number of key slots are taken or can you be locked out of this feature on some vehicles?

Keep trying.I've had this happen many times but if you keep trying it will work. The only reason why it won't work is if you have a cloned key. Are both keys oem keys.

Yep, a clone won't work so both keys have to be factory or aftermarket that are not clones. I get to program mode by inserting first key and turning on until the dinging stops. Remove and install second key, turn on till the ding stops. leave on, a few seconds later you should get another ding. If it doesn't do this you know you have aclone...

You have a small window to complete the step between the first and second key which is very important. You have 5 sec to get the ignition back on with the second key and it should be about 10 seconds before the vehicle dings telling you that you are in programming mode. Also I have seen some vehicles not ding or not flash telling you that you are in programming mode.

Don't listen to dings, watch the light.

Key 1 Turn on till red light goes out then IMMEDIATELY pull the key and insert key 2.

Key 2 Same thing turn on to IGN and security light will go out. Then come back on about 10 seconds in and start flashing.

Now you have 60 seconds to do the next steps, open the key and pull the chipboard off of it, leaving you only a metal key with no unlock buttons.

Put your programming chip as CLOSE as possible to the key insertion point, and turn the key you just took apart forward, keeping the programming chip close still.

And eventually your security light will go on for 3 seconds then shutoff, then you are programmed.

Next time use an Idata bypass and you don't need to deal with none of this.... :)

I have never had a dei chip in a box fail me.

A trick that I do is that I use a valet switch, one side to 12v and the other to ignition...I insert key 1, flip the switch..wait til the led turns off, flip the switch back off, then insert key #2...flip the switch again and wait for the led to start flashing, flip the switch back off....get the pk module next to the key cylinder and flip the switch again til it's learned, doing it that way avoids delays between keys and it has been working great for me...never fails unless I have a defective pk module....and Mike, you are right....the ADS-AL-CA is great and also the CHALL from bypass kit.
