Hi all,

I am in the trenches installing a 5301 into an 08 unlimited. Not sure what to use for starter wires. I have yellow/gray for starter 1 and starter 2 violet/brown. I have ignition and accessory when it attempts to start but no turnover whatsoever. Bulldog gives me starter color yellow/gray but it has a sidenote of "not for remote start"). So my question is do I use the yellow/gray at all? Or just the violet/brown mux/starter 2 and/or starter 1? I have the PKUCH2X programmed correctly (starts with just the key shell.) Thanks in advance!

You don't use the yellow/gray at all. This is a Mux design that Chrysler has had out for a while. You need ignition and Mux that's it, to start this car. Be sure to run the mux correctly, resisted values thru relays and you will be fine(unless that bypass does it for you).

Thanks. So do I still cut the mux and connect the purple (starter output car side) from the Viper to the BCM side of the mux? ALso have a RED / black from the Viper Im using for the input (key) side of the mux? Not sure if this is right.

If you are talking about the fat 12volt wires on the relay sat no! The Mux gets resisted valued negatives only and this done thru the PKUCH2X. The bypass connects to the Mux and that's all. Wire the PK as stated in it's instructions, connect the ignition wire and NOTHING ELSE to the ignition harness.

Going to try that right now. So the only heavy gauge wires from the Viper to connect are ignition1 and 12v? No accessory or starter? Also, the bypass asks for "ground when running" from the Viper. I'm using the blue status output which usually "activates" other bypasses. Thanks so much for the replys, I'm used to the older Viper models only.

You are correct, just the ign and power wires. The bypass takes care of acc and start thru data.

I just can't get this to turn over. I am showing 12volts when it is supposed to crank on the viper's violet heavy gauge starter wire which is connected to the violet starter wire of the PK. but no cranking. Ignition is on and heat blowing. Not sure if I am supposed to program the "flex relay" wires to starter2? Or am I over-complicating the whole thing? Thanks.

Again i'm afraid i am not familiar with the bypass so can give much help. Are you sure the violet input wire on it is a positive? It is on Idata but yours may be different...

Thanks, I couldn't get this wrangler to cooperate! I am going to check back for any other posts regarding an '08 up wrangler. Thanks for the help Mike, as always this site is the best!
