Hi guys, attempting to install an alarm in a dune buggy and it does not have doors to notify the brain that we have gotten in or out of the car. Can I just leave all those signal wires unconnected and use the remote buttons to arm and disarm the alarm? I am installing a Steller STRS9750 Remote Start and Alarm in this thing and would like to have some protection while in the desert.
All the wiring is custom to this project so there is no make or model of car that I can provide to help with your answer.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Just leave those wires disconnected. I would suggest installing a motion sensor though since its completely open. They are pretty cheap too, between $50-$100.

Thank you Kassdog, it has a Dual Stage Shock Sensor that was included in the kit it is already plugged in, are you recommending a Radar Style motion sensor in case someone reaches inside?

Thanks again!

I would reccomend it.  Have some type of control over it also.  Like a toggle switch to disable it, for times when you want the regular alarm, but not the perimiter field sensor active.

Does the seat have any shock absorption that would allow you to install a pressure switch?

Hello Number2, no, the seat does not have shock absorption. It does have suspension seats but that is only because of the webbing between the steel framework. Curt

One thing to keep in mind is that some alarm systems require you to open a door to program them.  If your alarm is like that you will need to ground out the door trigger in order to set the system up.

I would go with a Proximity Sensor 508D. When calibrated and installed properly, these work great. You can always bypass warn away with remote when arming.  Whether it will work with Stellar I am not sure. You could always hard wire it to the alarm brain harness on one of the trigger wires.
