I need a nice small discrete on/off button. I'm installing it on the plastic u-shaped panel under my stereo so a rocker switch might work if it is really soft. 1-3 amp should do it. Searching around I can't find much but big, bulky ugly crap that will stick out.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Those are cool. Id rather have a small black button that sits flush to match the panel. With green LED illumination would be awesome but not really necessary.

We use these at work for anything we use a switch on. Easy to install and they look good...

Do they take a lot of pressure to push on or off? The panel im mounting to is old and im kinda afraid it might cracking or break.

Here are some interesting pushbutton switches. If you're looking to turn something on, leave it on for a while, then turn it off, make sure NOT to choose a "momentary" switch.

Here's another switch I've always loved the look of, but I've never come across an application where I've needed it. You can get it at AutoZone too.

P.S. If you're worried about your brittle dash panel, I wonder if you could reinforce the backside of it. Maybe get a piece of thin but sturdy plastic, cut it to shape, epoxy it to the backside of the panel.....then drill through both pieces and mount your switch. Make sure the piece of plastic isn't too thick for the switch to pass through it.

I just measured realized I only have room to have about 15mm or smaller button. So that throws out any rocker switches or almost anything I have seen. There is this one

But its for 120VAC. Will it still work?
