I have a python 871xp remote start alarm i want to install on my 1999 Acura 3.5RL. I know that i need an immobilizer bypass, but my question is what model bypass do i need. Also i already have the trunk release as a standard feature so would i need anything extra to make it work with the python?

there are tons of bypasses out there that can do the transponder. i like the fortin units, but idatalink, bypasskits.com offer basically the same thing.

fortin - key-override-all
bypasskits - xk05 or pkall

for the trunk release, you should use a standard 30 amp automotive relay, but remeber this can only be used if you have electric trunk popers.

there is a great price for a bypass on amazon, that says its for Honda Prelude/Acura RL

according to this website it should work.

although a typo has me second guessing...

i think for the price, i will buy anyway...

cant be $2.50

If it's the DEI PKH1 bypass module that you are referring to, it will work for your car.  The price is low because the unit has been discontinued by DEI.  ( Its a good unit but the vehicles it bypasses haven't been made since 2004. )
