I've installed a valet 552t remote start, keyless entry ,On a 2004 chevy impala ,I'm not a beginner at installing but am new to the passlock l and 2,3 on the new models, was an professional installer for cps dist, installed codealarms back in the 90's,So i have some knowledge, but things changed,But my problem is the system will crank, but want turnover,If i stick key in ignition, right after i hit remote start, turn ignition to run and it start's,but it only run's for less than a minute, and shut's down,I've installed a fortin int-sl passlock2 bypass, self learning, which you hook to purple wire on diagnostic link under dash, pink to ignition, blue from remote start while running- input, orange & black Tach wire to violet/ white from remote start, and power and ground.I'm not sure if i need to shut factory alarm down, before it will start, which is green wire in gray plug,at bcm,but i did an oldsmobile alero last year and it was no need to do this,Ignition wires are were they suppose to be,Because i know that could be an issue if not correct,PLEASE-HELP

The factory alarm will not stop the car from starting, only the passlock system will. When you remote start the car, what does the security light on the dash cluster do? CPS dist? In KC?

There's no status light on at all,a light blinks on radio when in armed, but does'nt blink on remote start, nothing on dash cluster at all, during remote start sequence....This is frustrating.......

Are you sure you have the correct tach wire...And did you put it into tach mode in the programming...?? If it has a tachless option...turn that on and see what happens...! To me...it sounds like 2 problems...First one is the tach programming...and the 2nd is the passlock bypass not installed properly...! here is a do-it-yourself passlock bypass diagram...Maybe even just temporarily bypass the passlock with a resistor untill you get it starting properly...Then use the link or bypass..!

Sounds like a passlock problem. The tach wire from the RS does not have anything to do with the car stay running. All the tach wire does is let the RS know if the car is running and not let the RS try to restart car again. Will the car stay running when you start it with the key?

You know last night i was cleaning up, and putting things in place under dash, shortening wires where need be ,and decided too try it one more time, and lord behold it started, and stayed running, checked numerous times after and still started, so i don't know if there was maybe some resistance somewhere in ignition or ground, but it's working now ,And Thank's to eveyone for there help!!!!!!!! Glad it worked out for you. You may have "locked" youself out of the passlock after trying to start vehicle with a bad passlock and the system had to reset.

If you didnt properly set up tach in programming or have the incorrect tach wire...??? Then it would start and stall...?????? posted_image       As far as remote starting with the key...Did you NOT read the original post...No it doesnt...
