I have a 1986 Nissan 300zx 5 spd. and was wondering if I could hook up a remote start to the car? It does not require the clutch pedal to be pushed for the car to start. It starts the same way as an automatic.

So.... it starts "in gear" ?

Any product will do if coupled with a DEI 689m, or see if the car will start in gear without depressing the clutch. If it starts in gear (give yourself lots of room and keep the parking brake on), you need the 689, if not then find a friendly dealer to tell you where the neutral safety switch wire is. That will go to the equivalent wire on any remote start and that's your problem solved.

Viper, Pyhton, UltraStart, Scytek, AutoStart, and Computstar all have manual-capable units. (there are several others also)

PLEASE, PLEASE use the one of these or the DEI 689m.
