Chris and Jeff,

Sort of related to this - how much have you guys used D2D cables, and if you have, where do you usually get them?

Also, which brands of remote starter are compatible with which data bypasses? I've only once used Audiovox with Bypasskit.

Last, have you found any functionality problems or limitations?

Sorry for the thread jack, but it just seemed like a good thing to ask here.

I've used the D2D since it's inception about 3-4 years ago. At first it wasn't really good ( about 50 % failure rate ) but the very next year it dropped to only 10% faiulure rate. Now, it's less than 1 % failure rate. I can't remember that last time I used W2W with the iDatalink modules, but with the Fortin, I use the W2W 100 % of the time. So far this year, I know I haven't used a W2W set up yet.

I use soley Compustar PRO remote starter systems with the BLADE cartridge for 99% of my installations. I stock some Solo series and a handfull of Fortin kits for the systems that the customer bring into me. As far as I know the iDatalink is compatible ( 100 % D2D ) with Compustar, Artic Start, NuStart, ProStart & Autostart. There's been a new D2D cable release for all the DEI peices but I'm not sure if it's a 100% compatible seeing that I'm not a DEI dealer.

Every module has some issues with certain vehicles but if you call into technical support and report the issue, the problem can be solved pretty fast and the guys over at iDatalink are pretty on the ball with issuing custom firmwares for particular issues that you have.
