I have a Python 580 installed now. Can I swap in a Viper 5501 or do I have to gut everything and start over.

or......

Can the remote and the long range antenna from the 5501 be used in the 580?

No to your last question! Not familiar with that 580 from dei, if it's like the 791xv, then you would have to eliminate most of the present wiring!
