Last year with the 5200 brain the number of green dots under the ignition harness plug meant a certin version. It was kind of a big deal, two dots wouldnt do RS232. Three dots was flawless.

This year Ive gotten one green dot, one pink dot, and now two pink dots on the new brains.

I know one green dot had voltage sensing issues. Anybody know anything else about the versions? I had a couple blade issues on a one pink dot brain.

never heard of such things..   Never had any issues at all with a 5200 brain or the new 6200 brains.  We use blade bypasses almost exclusively.

Just flash your unit everytime before you install and you will have the newest firmware on the unit. It should be V8.1 for all the 6200 and if you use a BLADE module on a 5200 it will have the same firmware.

I remember last year we reflashed some of the earlier 5200 brains mid season. No problems just a couple feature issues. Great starters, we rarely ever got a bad one in.

The new brain is very consistent, just some gettin used to on a couple things. I really dont like the additional relay compared to the last one. New one is wired too short.
