I have a Viper 791xv alarm/remote start on a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am and i was wondering if a non 2 way remote will work with this alarm system. Im trying to find a way to have a backup remote without having to spend 50 dollars. Please installers Help. Thanks a bunch

so no other viper remote will work on this thing? whats up with that?

472V was a companion 1 way remote for that system I think. But every one I ever sold quit working rather quickly, and when I sent them back to DEI some time later, they had nothing to replace them with since the 472's were discontinued.
