I'm working on a 2006 Expedition with factory keyless entry.  Is there a way to wire a relay, using the door triggers (door ajar signal wires) as inputs, so that if someone opens a door, the relay energizes?  On the factory system, there 5 door ajar inputs that go from the doors to the VSM and each door rests at ground when closed.

You should be able to do this with 2 relays. The one relay would be energized whenever the door is closed & the other would energize whenever the door is opened. See the diagram below.

DEI also market a module to give a (normal) neg signal when the door opens, also on some DEI systems you can configure the unit to recognise this. I beklieve only Ford uses this back to front system where the door triggers go to ground on closing and open circuit on opening.
