Just wrapped up an install of a 5901 in my 06 F350 6.0 diesel. The only problem I seem to have is that when I remote start the truck it starts fine. However when I disarm the alarm to get inside the truck, the remote start stops the truck. When I  am hopping in the truck the remote start tries to restart the truck. Is there something i'm missing here. Read through the manual several times but i'm probably just missing the obvious. Been out of the alarm installing buisness since '93 wow how things have changed. Thanks for all the useful information this site has to offer. There was nothing like this in my day :errr: .  I am using the GREEN / WHITE wire for the tach. I have the alarm set for auto transmission, engine check mode to tachometer, cranking time 4 sec, diesel start delay 15 sec. Oh and a last thing, does the 5901 have a Key sense that needs to be hooked up. The reason I ask is that if the alarm is disarmed and I remote start the truck, I can open the door, get in and when I put the key in and turn it forward, the remote start icon on the remote stays with the countdown. Thanks

tach should be violet/white....  no keysense wire on the 5901...

sounds like you have something hooked to GWA and not GWR......

it will stay with the countdown until you step on the brake.... if it doesnt shut off then, check your brake connec tion.....

I meant the GREEN / WHITE wire on my truck. Good no key sense.

Nothing on the orange GWA wire from the 5901. GWR (ground when running?) the 5901 has that wire? If so what color and where does it go? confused Thanks

did you require a bypass module for your truck?  US-CDN vehicles always differ on this..... if you did what module w/what firmware?

i have the same model in my own SUV and there is really nothing that will drop out when you hit the unlock/disarm button short of GWA......

No bypass module required. US vehicle. Tried again this morning. Disarmed the alarm, hit remote start, got inside, remember alarm was disarmed. Put key in and hit brake pedal. Remote still had the count down going. Grabbed my meter and read 12v when brake is pressed. Retried with the truck armed. Hit disarm and the truck killed.

so what happens when you R/S the vehicle and then when its running step on the brake (w/o the key in the IGN)?  does the vehicle shut off?

i have to think you have something wired wrong as i cant think of anything that will drop on simply on disarm that relates at all to the R/S half of the system....

can you post how you have things wired??
