hi i have a python 1090 i just bought and i am doing the install myself thanks to this site. my problem is that i go to the learn routine
open door
ign on
press valet once the press and hold

i then get my single flash of the led and single chirp but when i push the lock button on the remote nothing happens. so i figured the brain or remote might be bad, i sent them back to the company and they sent me new ones. so i try it again...same thing :(
can anyone please help
also i do not have the remote start hooked up but i wouldnt think this matters since it does enter the learn mode
thanks

Is the green wire connected to a door trigger and going to ground?  Test;  also are you manually programming or using a bitwritwer?  It's unlikely from new but it's possible that the learning cycle has been programmed out by the bitwriter.  t&t knows the correct procedure. That apart excluding Clifford G4 and some G5, I find DEI product a bitch to programme, lots of patience and multi attacks before it works.

From your description it's entering the learn mode, have you checked your antenna connections?

im not familiar with the new dei product line but are you sure that step 1 is auto learn? older dei that i used were usually like step 7 or 9 for auto learn?have you tried entering the programming mode and programming each button individually?

I agree with you jim, but with dei what I noticed personally is that even though it's the wrong program menu once the brain opens up for remote rogramming once a signal is emmited by a compatible remote the system should still respond!  of course i could be wrong as i'm not familiar with that new python line for the time being!
