Im  in a pickel and need a poor way to bypass the transponder in my 1999 Volvo xc70. Long story short They key i have for it turns the ignition but interupts injector pulse. i need a way to start this car ASAP

I f I knew that I wouldnt be trying to avoid getting assraped at the stealler for them=) I got the car not runing and a tow company owned it sold it to me he had a key made need I really go on ? =). Sigh I just need to bypass the system for good as Im gonna put a remote start in it anywho. Anyone?

Ahh...you didn't mention that it was a salvage vehicle in your original post.

You could possibly find a used PCM, transponder antenna ring, whatever else communicates between them, and set of keys. Barring that, try searching for someone who does performance computer programming on Volvos - they may be able to program the immobilizer right out of the computer.

Will a by-pass work without a working chip?  If it did the car thieves would think it was Christmas every day!  I'm afraid it's either a stealer or as Chris said.  You should have costed the key factor into your purchase.

I was handed a key that works mechanicly but its hard to know iff the key will start the car with a dead battery and no cilynder head =) The car came from a stealer apart in bags and boxes to the tow yard that planned to keep it for himself

Thnks for the input fellas, I was looking for a free option as being unemployed for a living isnt very lucretive. We happend to sell a 98 I got for 1k and fixed out of the blue for 3k so I had a 2k budget and its done and we now only have one car. heh life is fun =)
