Hi Guys,

Should the bypass light come on if you connect the +12v, ground, and ground when running only? Or do the TX RX wires etc need to be connected and communicating as well for the light to come on? I am trying to see if I blew mine up by connecting the GWR to a relay that had no diode protection. Thanks a lot for your help!!!

Peter.

The light will come on after you press the programming button and insert the 4 pin power/ground connector. *** The BLUE and WHITE wires are for RS232 control NOT a GWR control wire *** I have heard of people using the BLUE wire on the power harness as a GWR wire and damaging the module.

OK,

This module was programmed and working before I did these mods, now it doesn't. Do I have to push the button and insert the harness if it was previously programmed?? I connected everything back up and now I get no light. I tried connecting just the +, -, and GWR to the batt just to see if the light would come on and it didn't! Thanks again for your help!

Yes, you still have to push the button on the bypass module. What model module is this ? Most of the Fortin modules only program once and that's it. Does your GWR wire still work ? Have you tried to ground the BLUE wire on the Fortin module straight to ground to see if it activates ?

It is a -ALL module, and it is going back in the truck it came out of. I will try pushing the button upon install, but I have removed and installed it several times without doing that. I did try hooking up the three wires direct to the battery, -, +, and GWR and I do not get a light. I thought I tried GWR straight to ground while the harnesses were plugged in but I was also getting power/ ground from my remote start module wich may have also been a problem (I did wring out the +/- from the autostart module, and they did seem fine...).
